Thank you so very very much to American Photo Magazine for including me in their Top Ten Wedding Photographers of 2012. It's a wonderfully humbling honor!

hello all!  i wanted to follow-up on my post from a few weeks back about a new product that i have been very, very excited to begin offering to my wedding clients.  i've been asked in the past if i offered photo booth rentals and the answer was always no.  truth was i simply hadn't found any vendor that was making a quality product that i'd be proud to have at my clients' events.

enter social studio system and their gorgeous snap-n-share photo machine. an open-frame photo booth isn't an entirely new concept, but this simple system is highly portable, simple, professional, incredibly well made, and will blend seamlessly into the background of your event.  it's not just a "photo booth" but a social interaction point at your event where your guests can meet new people, talk, laugh, and take fun photographs!

(** yes, those are my daughters. yes, the images are cropped for maximum adorableness and humor. i promise that more than two elementary schoolers can fit in here. in fact, we've even gotten up to ten full-grown adults in the booth at once.)

one of my favorite parts is that you and your guests won't have to stand in line (when honestly, wouldn't you rather be dancing?) waiting for a blurry, low-quality strip of photographs that you'll then forget on your table and never see again.  a few days post-wedding the images will be available on facebook and for download so that you and your guests can tag themselves to their heart's content and download the images for themselves.

the booth is discreet and requires no power source nor fancy tools to put it together.  my six year old actually built it almost entirely herself in twenty minutes!  it's been legally reviewed (the photo booth, not the six year old) in a licensed production facility, marked with warning labels, and professionally tested.  it's a safe place for your guests to play and create images for you - and them - to enjoy later.  since it's also totally branded with instructions and signage you won't need to hire an additional staff member to "watch" the booth - it's safe and sturdy and ready to go! guests just push the big red button, watch the led countdown, and CLICK! rinse and repeat as often as desired.

the booth is available now for inclusion in your wedding collection.  simply contact the studio for specific pricing information and to reserve it for your date.

photographers, if you're interested in more details (and I bet you are!) please please head on over to the "for photographers" page for more information!

today i held a sale of the think book : issue seven.. the proceeds from this sale were to be donated in honor of john david tyson and his team for the down syndrome association of tallahasee buddy walk.

i just closed the sale and thanks to you all the donation that was just made in john david's name totaled nearly six thousand dollars.

i don't write much on this blog (i tend to let the pictures tell the story) and on twitter i tend more towards the self-deprecating and sarcastic but i wanted to take a second to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for what you've done today for the down syndrome association of tallahassee. as a mother, i thank you. as a friend, i thank you. as someone who loves john david and his parents, i thank you. i thank your generous hearts and amazing kindness. i am completely overwhelmed and your donations will go to do amazing things with this incredible association.

while the donations from the think book have closed (it's still on sale, no worries!) if you missed the chance to donate you can do it right here directly to john david's buddy walk team.

thank you.

last week i had the wonderful honor of working with the excellent team at nikon and the mww group for nikon's online series look good in pictures : a how to series with carson kressley

many of you may remember carson from his days on queer eye for the straight guy. he was a great host for this how-to series and my segment was on "how to look good in wedding pictures." i was interviewed by carson and had the opportunity to shoot the real-woman models in the dress studio while carson assisted in choosing the best gowns for their individual body types. the shoot took place at the astounding designer loft : a bridal collective in new york.

thanks SO much to the team at nikon for this honor, it was a wonderful day! here are a few images from behind the scenes at the shoot, as well as a few bridal images i made that day. the video will be up soon and i'll post a link to it as soon as it's online.
