i'm susan

I grew up in Georgia, studied theatre, and accidentally found the best job in the world. I’m endlessly curious, which probably explains why I’m always reading, swimming, scuba diving, watching horror movies, or trying to keep Lucy, my cat, from adding to her criminal record.

weddings and THeATRE aren't as different AS YOU'D THINK.  Both UNFOLD like a three-act play.

People are often surprised to find out I’m a lot less serious than I look.

I’m the friend people text when they need to talk through a problem, find their next great book, or figure out whether someone from high school definitely got divorced based on suspicious Instagram activity. I like helping people untangle things, asking questions, and looking at problems from a few different angles. My therapist has become one of my most frequently quoted people.

I have very strong opinions about books, horror movies, and the fact that Seinfeld just isn’t funny. I can perform all of Hamilton by myself if left unsupervised. I’m strangely good at Jeopardy! and know an unreasonable amount of completely useless pop culture trivia.

Reading and napping are two of my favorite ways to spend a day off. Unfortunately, I have a hard time leaving a day off alone. It almost always turns into reorganizing something, researching something, learning something new, or convincing myself that today is finally the day I’ll tackle a project I’ve been putting off.

I have an real human skull and it totally isn't haunted ... probably

I got a degree in theatre that I never used professionally.

I have two dogs and two cats.

Horror movies are my favorite thing ever

I’ve spent the past few years slowly covering both arms with tattoos

I have a campervan that is my preferred way of travel

I’m also a licensed wedding officiant just in case :)
