I capture the unspoken — the glances, the silences — drawing from New York's pulse and the richness of global cultures. Every wedding is its own intricate narrative. Rooted in theatre and life's everyday rhythms, I document moments both transient and timeless.

Hey, I'm susan!

Indian Wedding at Tarrytown House Estate

It takes a truly special couple to pull off a day this complicated without a planner!  Mary and Sarabjeet filled the third of their three-day event at Tarrytown House Estate with so many beautiful touches : the outdoor ceremony in her gorgeous white wedding dress, some outdoor portraits, a sweet midday lunch where they got to hang out with their nearest and dearest, a few outfit changes, a gorgeous baraat led by a white horse, and a wild reception that went well into the early hours of the morning!

Tarrytown House Estate Wedding Photographer

Tarrytown House Estate at 49 East Sunnyside Lane in Tarrytown, New York sits on 26 acres in the Hudson River Valley, 25 miles from Midtown Manhattan. Two 19th-century mansions — the King Mansion and the Biddle Mansion — more than 30,000 square feet of event space, and a setting that accommodates everything from intimate ceremonies to full multi-day South Asian wedding weekends. The Statue Garden overlooking the Hudson. The greenhouse-style Winter Palace. The Mary Duke Ballroom. Cellar 49 for after-parties in a former speakeasy. On-site accommodations across both mansions. I have photographed a three-day Indian wedding weekend here and the grounds are extraordinary.

About the Venue

49 East Sunnyside Lane, Tarrytown, New York, in Westchester County. 25 miles from Midtown Manhattan. 26 acres overlooking the Hudson River Valley. Two historic 19th-century mansions — King Mansion and Biddle Mansion. More than 30,000 square feet of event space. Up to 400 guests. On-site accommodations. Complimentary valet for weddings over 100 guests. In-house catering. Personal event planner assigned to each couple.

The Event Spaces

The Mary Duke Ballroom is the signature grand ballroom with tall windows that flood the room with natural light for daytime celebrations and serve as a reflective backdrop for candlelit evening receptions. Up to 400 guests.

The Winter Palace adjoins the Biddle Mansion with three walls of glass windows and Hudson Valley views. Greenhouse-style and naturally lit. Up to 350 guests. One of the most distinctive indoor reception spaces in Westchester.

The Statue Garden features classical stone sculptures and overlooks the Hudson River. Up to 300 guests outdoors. The estate’s most dramatic outdoor ceremony and reception setting.

The Biddle Mansion library and music rooms serve as cocktail hour spaces. The West Terrace of the Biddle Mansion offers Hudson Valley views for outdoor cocktail hours.

Cellar 49 is located under the Biddle Mansion — a former speakeasy with exposed brick, copper ceilings, a billiards table, shuffleboard, a rustic bar, and a private wine cellar converted from a bowling alley. Up to 110 guests. Used for after-parties and rehearsal dinners.

Multi-Day and South Asian Weddings

Tarrytown House Estate is purpose-built for multi-day wedding weekends. The combination of on-site accommodations across two mansions, multiple distinct event spaces, and a dedicated event planning team makes it one of the strongest Hudson Valley options for Indian and South Asian weddings requiring Haldi, Baraat, Sangeet, and multi-day receptions. The grounds — the estate driveway, the Statue Garden, the mansion facades, the Hudson River views — provide extraordinary settings for Baraat processions and outdoor ceremony coverage.
