I am always hunting for unique views in New York. This one is at 91st Street as you enter Central Park, on the track by the Reservoir. My clients are standing on the track and I photographed upward to catch this silhouette.
What I love most about this spot is that it is personal to them. They live nearby, and this track is somewhere they often go as a couple. It is close to the bench where they took their first picture together. I love that this image will be meaningful to them for many reasons beyond its beauty.
The Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir runs 1.58 miles around its perimeter, sits between 86th and 96th Streets, and offers some of the most unobstructed views of the Upper West Side skyline of anywhere in the park. It is also considerably less photographed than Bethesda Terrace or Bow Bridge, which makes it worth knowing about.
If you want to shoot here, enter at 91st Street.
