I capture the unspoken — the glances, the silences — drawing from New York's pulse and the richness of global cultures. Every wedding is its own intricate narrative. Rooted in theatre and life's everyday rhythms, I document moments both transient and timeless.

Hey, I'm susan!

Ocean Place Resort and Spa Wedding

I started my business photographing weddings at the beach.  I photographed up and down the Florida coast, and when I moved to New York, I missed those days by the ocean.  Every wedding at the beach makes my heart full and happy, and it’s especially wonderful when the couple getting married is as warm and vibrant as their surroundings.  Hiral and Shub planned a day full of colored smoke, dancing, singing, love, laughter, toasts that literally defied gravity, and a dance party that went on well into the night.  It was an honor to spend this day at the beach with the two of them and their amazing families and friends!

Here are a few of my favorite images from their wedding:

Ocean Place Resort and Spa Wedding Photographer

Ocean Place Resort and Spa in Long Branch, New Jersey is an oceanfront resort one hour from New York City with 100,000 square feet of event space, five semi-private palm tree-lined beaches, two oceanfront ballrooms, and one of the most well-developed South Asian wedding programs of any venue on the Jersey Shore. Outside caterers are welcome and have access to a private kitchen. I started my career photographing beach weddings along the Florida coast. Every wedding at the ocean makes me remember why I got into this work. This venue photographs beautifully.

About the Venue

Long Branch, New Jersey, on the Atlantic Ocean. One hour from New York City by car or NJ Transit train. 45,000 square feet of indoor event space and 55,000 square feet of outdoor event space. Two oceanfront ballrooms. Five semi-private palm tree-lined beaches. Great Lawn for outdoor events. Indoor capacity up to 800 guests. Beach capacity up to 1,000. Outside caterers permitted with access to a dedicated private kitchen. Full-service spa. Indoor and outdoor pools. 300-seat Seaview Restaurant. Parking for 1,200 cars. Beach ceremonies require permits from the City of Long Branch — the venue coordinates this process.

South Asian and Indian Weddings

Ocean Place is one of the most experienced Jersey Shore venues for South Asian weddings. The resort explicitly packages and coordinates full Indian wedding weekends including Haldi ceremonies, Baraat, Sangeet, and multi-day receptions accommodating up to 650 guests. Outside caterers are welcome and have access to a private kitchen, which is essential for Indian wedding catering. The combination of outdoor beach space, indoor ballrooms, and overnight accommodations for guests makes a full multi-day celebration genuinely feasible here without splitting the group across multiple locations.

The Event Spaces

Two oceanfront ballrooms serve as the primary reception spaces, both with ocean views. The largest configurations accommodate up to 650 guests for South Asian celebrations and up to 800 for other indoor events. The ballrooms are divisible for smaller celebrations.

Five semi-private beaches provide ceremony and cocktail hour space on the sand. The Great Lawn accommodates up to 200 guests for outdoor events. The outdoor patio is used for cocktail hours between the ceremony and reception. All outdoor spaces work with the Atlantic as the backdrop.

The Seaview Restaurant seats 300 and is available for rehearsal dinners and farewell brunches.

Photography at Ocean Place

Beach ceremony coverage with the Atlantic Ocean directly behind the couple and the palm trees lining the sand. The outdoor patio during cocktail hour with the ocean light in late afternoon. The ballroom reception coverage with the oceanfront windows. Sunset portraits on the beach between the ceremony and reception — this window at Ocean Place, with the Jersey Shore light coming off the water, is extraordinary. And for South Asian weddings, the color, movement, and energy of Haldi and Sangeet ceremonies photographed against the ocean backdrop.
