Some wedding venues are so charming and magical that you just know you’ll never be able to forget them. Southall Farm and Inn in Franklin, Tennessee, is hands down one of those venues.
I recently had the opportunity to photograph a beautiful wedding at this venue, and I LOVED every moment. This venue is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Nashville, and even though it’s just a short drive away from the city, it feels like a world apart in the serene countryside.
Sounds like just what you are looking for? Let’s check out all that Southall Farm and Inn has to offer to see if it is the perfect venue that you have been searching for.

About Southall Farm and Inn
Where do I even begin? There’s so much to love about this place!
Southall Farm and Inn is located just outside of Nashville, and it is a working farm on 425 acres with a rustic but refined inn, indoor and outdoor venue options, and a beautiful lake.
If your dream wedding vision blends nature—rolling hills, orchards, and scenic country views—with romance and charm, this venue is the perfect choice.
You can choose from five different and versatile venue spaces for your reception and ceremony, and this is the place for a one-of-a-kind wedding. You can also virtually tour each space on Southall’s website.
The Orchard Event Center
This space has high ceilings, beautiful exposed beams, and lots of natural light, plus an outdoor patio next to the lake. You can have up to 250 guests, and if you want to have an indoor/outdoor wedding, you can have a tent outside on the lawn overlooking their amazing lake.
The Amphitheater
The Amphitheater is on the lake, and you can host up to 300 guests. This is a perfect spot for an outdoor wedding if you want views of the surrounding orchard, hills, and forests.
The Conservatory Terrace
This is another outdoor venue option, next to the stunning greenhouse conservatories and courtyard. You can accommodate up to 120 guests here, and it features canopy string lights, outdoor lounge spaces, picnic tables, and plenty of wide-open spaces for you and your guests.
The Hilltop Pavilion
This is a great spot for a smaller, intimate wedding as you can accommodate up to 75 guests here. In this spot, you’re surrounded by trees and nature, and you have a deck that overlooks the valley. There’s also an outdoor cooking area for al fresco dining. This is where the ceremony was, and the views were spectacular.
The Covered Bridge
For smaller weddings, the Covered Bridge is definitely the place to be. This is a beautiful bridge where you can host your reception of 80 guests. It’s right next to a creek and is also surrounded by incredible nature. We took family and wedding party photos here, and it was a great spot to escape the southern heat!
Some other incredible parts and features of the venue include:
- A getting-ready suite
- Tables and chairs for your guests
- Parking that is handicap accessible
- Set up and clean up
…and even more!
You can also choose to have Southall provide customized, farm-fresh catering, so you can serve delicious food made with seasonal ingredients grown steps away from the table.
Since this is also an inn, it is the perfect place to pick for a weekend wedding. You can stay right on the property; there are activities that you and your guests can do together, and there is even a spa for some pre-wedding relaxation!

Weekend Wedding Experience
As you plan your wedding, why not host your entire wedding weekend at Southall Farm and Inn? One standout feature of this venue is the ability to host every part of your event—your rehearsal dinner, welcome party, ceremony, and reception—all in one place.
This is an amazing experience for both you and your guests so that you can focus on enjoying all of your wedding festivities rather than worrying about logistics. Having everything at one venue eliminates so much stress.
You’ll no longer have to coordinate multiple locations or create maps and timelines for you and your guests. You also won’t have to worry about a guest getting lost between events or figuring out transportation.
You can also keep some of the decorations and aesthetics you planned for your ceremony. Imagine not having to set up and clean up an entirely different rehearsal dinner space or welcome party space.
Having everything in the same location will make things so much easier and save you so much time so you can focus on the things that actually matter. Plus, people always say their wedding goes by too quickly, so why not soak in even more memories and experiences with your loved ones by planning a whole-weekend wedding?
Weekend weddings are definitely becoming more popular, and it’s clear why. Not only do you get to do more with your loved ones, but it can also make the wedding day less stressful.
Instead of feeling like you have to run around and rush to see everyone with all the craziness of your wedding, you have all weekend to hang out with everyone and make those memories.
Plus, sometimes it is fun to just have dinner, go skiing, go for a hike, or do anything else you love to relax and forget about all the stress that comes with a wedding.
