I capture the unspoken — the glances, the silences — drawing from New York's pulse and the richness of global cultures. Every wedding is its own intricate narrative. Rooted in theatre and life's everyday rhythms, I document moments both transient and timeless.

Hey, I'm susan!

Wedding at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge

As someone who was a decade-long resident of Brooklyn, it’s no secret that this borough is my favorite.  If I had to narrow down my favorite places in incredible Brooklyn, Brooklyn Bridge Park would almost always come out on top.  I love the gorgeous views of the Manhattan skyline, the too-numerous-to-count locations for wedding and engagement portraits, and the amazing neighborhood that continues to grow and thrive.  What better place to have a wedding?  Add to this awesome spot two marvelous human beings, a team of tremendous vendors, and an immeasurable sweetness and you’ve got the perfect summer wedding.

Here are a few of my favorite images from the day:

1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge at 60 Furman Street in DUMBO sits directly at the edge of Brooklyn Bridge Park with the Manhattan skyline, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the East River visible from nearly every window. Sustainable design throughout — reclaimed materials, living walls, natural wood and stone — with 195 guest rooms and event spaces that range from a 5,545 square foot ballroom at park level to a 10th floor lounge with panoramic skyline views. I lived in Brooklyn for a decade. Brooklyn Bridge Park is one of my most-used portrait locations in New York. This venue is in the exact place I love most.

Harriet’s Rooftop is the open-air rooftop space with sweeping waterfront views. Used for cocktail hours and smaller outdoor events.

Harriet’s Lounge on the 10th floor for reception coverage with the Manhattan skyline behind the couple. The getting-ready suites with floor-to-ceiling windows and East River light. And then outside — Brooklyn Bridge Park is immediately in front of the hotel, which means the most portrait-rich waterfront location in Brooklyn is steps away. DUMBO’s cobblestones and the arch of the Manhattan Bridge are a four-minute walk. The entire neighborhood is the extended venue.
