I capture the unspoken — the glances, the silences — drawing from New York's pulse and the richness of global cultures. Every wedding is its own intricate narrative. Rooted in theatre and life's everyday rhythms, I document moments both transient and timeless.

Hey, I'm susan!

9 Breathtaking Wedding Venues Near NYC

New York City is an incredible place to be. It is always bursting with life and is truly the city that never sleeps. However, that means that there are always people around 24/7, and when it comes to your wedding day, you may be thinking you want something a bit more private and secluded.

One of the great things about NYC, though, is there are some amazing places just a short drive from the city that can give you that privacy and seclusion without having to plan a destination wedding to another state or country!

These wedding venues near NYC are only a few hours away and create the perfect weekend getaway for you and your partner to start the rest of your lives together. If this sounds more up your alley, here are a few fantastic wedding venues near NYC that will give you the wedding of your dreams!

Stunning Wedding Venues Near NYC

Handsome Hollow – Long Eddy, NY

Handsome Hollow is a dream wedding venue for anyone looking for a rustic farm vibe with stunning views. The venue features a farmhouse, a barn, and 93 acres of forest.

The farmhouse was originally built in the late 19th century and has been resorted to give it a contemporary feel while still keeping all of the original details. You get two nights in this three-bedroom farmhouse included in your wedding package, making it the perfect place to stay the night before your wedding and get ready with your wedding party on your big day!

When it comes to your ceremony, they have three beautiful locations to choose from. For an enchanted forest ceremony, they have a clearing in the forest itself that is lined with ferns and maple trees.

If you want the Catskills as your backdrop, there is also a ceremony site in a field with amazing views of the mountains behind. Finally, you can also say I do in the ruins of the original barn that once stood on the property.

After the ceremony, you can celebrate with all of your closest friends and family in the barn that was built over 200 years ago! The barn is over 4,000 square feet and can seat up to 150 people, making it the perfect reception venue.

Lyndhurst Mansion – Tarrytown, New York

A bride slightly leaning back as her veil flows behind her.

Have you ever dreamed about getting married in a castle but don’t want to have a destination wedding in another country? Well, Lyndhurst Mansion has you covered. While this is technically a mansion, it gives you the fairytale European castle look outside the city.

For a true, once-in-a-lifetime experience, you can make a grand entrance from the front doors onto their Great Lawn. They also have a stunning rose garden unlike anything else around during the rose season.

Their tented reception area can accommodate up to 300 guests and creates the perfect atmosphere for you and your guests to dance the night away. They also have other areas around the property where you can host your reception, so you will surely find the perfect spot for you and your partner.

Their culinary team will also create a menu with you that is second to none. Plus, the venue is pet-friendly in its outdoor spaces, meaning you can incorporate your four-legged family members into your wedding!

Callicoon Hills – Callicoon Center, NY

If you want to turn your wedding day into an entire weekend getaway with all of your friends and family, Calicoon Hills is a fantastic option. This venue is also a cozy hotel that has all of the charm of a mountain escape with plenty of modern amenities.

You can reserve 61 guest rooms to have all of your guests stay at the hotel. Plus, they’ll get a complimentary welcome drink, and you can plan events like an after-party on your wedding day or a Sunday brunch the morning after!

Your wedding will be an incredible combination of breathtaking views of the surrounding area and a homey feeling inside the barn. The ceremony site, lined with wildflowers, can seat up to 230 people, making it perfect even for larger weddings.

The barn offers the perfect place to celebrate your marriage with a beautiful deck to host your cocktail hour and a massive 4,000 indoor area for your reception.

Calicoon Hills’ culinary team also includes all the food and drinks for your wedding, as well as tables, chairs, linens, and more for up to 200 guests. They honestly do think of everything to make your wedding day as seamless as possible!

Wylder Hotel Windham – Windham, NY

Another perfect option for a full weekend trip with your guests is the Wylder Hotel Windham. The original resort was established in 1880 and has endless activities to enjoy, from a massive pool, tree swings, electric bikes, pickleball, and more. Not only will you have the wedding of your dreams, but you and your guests will have a weekend full of fun and laughter.

Your ceremony site will have perfect views of the surrounding mountains, and after you tie the knot, you can head into a beautiful indoor reception hall with plenty of room and excellent natural light.

If you’re looking for a bit extra, they have some great add-ons for your wedding, like a late-night snack bar for after your reception, a farewell brunch, or a cornhole tournament. One thing is for sure: this will be a weekend that no one will forget!

Basilica Hudson – Hudson, NY

Basilica Hudson is your place if you are looking for a more industrial vibe for your wedding. This venue is really a blank canvas that you can mold to be your dream wedding venue.

The building itself is a beautiful combination of metal beams, wood, and exposed bricks with massive windows all around. You’ll also get access to tables and chairs for up to 300 guests, string lights to make the venue even more dreamy, and even a projector and screen.

With its indoor and outdoor locations and open spaces, this venue is perfect for couples looking for something more minimal and industrial. Plus, the venue is pet-friendly!

Cedar Lakes Estate – Port Jervis, NY

If you’d rather say I do in Hudson Valley, Cedar Lakes Estate is always one of my top recommendations! It is one of my favorite wedding venues near NYC and has everything you need for the perfect weekend with your partner and guests.

The property has a variety of accommodations ranging from smaller cottages that sleep 2-4 people, cabins that sleep up to 8 people, and full houses that can sleep up to 11 people (depending on the house). Whether you want something a bit more private or a space you can enjoy with everyone closest to you, they have you covered.

When it comes to your wedding, you can choose from a mountaintop overlook or a beautiful deck overlooking the lake on the property. Cocktail hour will bring your guests to an amazing open-air pavilion (that has outdoor heating, so you can use it any time of the year!) or over to their poolside patio.

Finally, you can celebrate the night in their barn, which has vaulted ceilings showing off the beautiful wood frame and floor-to-ceiling windows, giving you amazing views of the surrounding area all night long!

As if this venue couldn’t get any better, they have a culinary team that will create the perfect menu for your wedding while using some incredible ingredients they grow on-site.

Wolffer Estate Winery – Sagaponack, NY

Vineyards are a beautiful place for a wedding, and Wolffer Estate Winery is no exception. The winery has been around since 1988 and has over 50 acres of stunning vineyards and open spaces.

Say I do surrounded by beautiful flowers and green vineyards. While your guests are enjoying a cocktail hour, you and your new spouse can sneak into the vineyards to have some time alone and capture some amazing portraits surrounded by bright green vines.

Once you are ready to kick the celebration off, they have an amazing outdoor patio that offers perfect views of the surrounding grounds. Once the sun goes down, string lights and lanterns turn it into a magical, fairytale-like space!

Bedell Cellars – Cutchogue, NY

Bedell Cellars is another amazing vineyard option with stunning views and top-tier accommodations. Open since the 1980s, the venue has a great open layout, which gives you the freedom to curate your wedding exactly the way you want.

You can head to their apple orchard or opt for their west lawn for your ceremony or cocktail hour. Both give you amazing views and plenty of room for your guests to move around.

The cathedral-roofed pavilion and massive attached deck area are a dream spot for your reception. Not only is the pavilion itself beautiful, but it also has amazing views of the surrounding vineyards.

Brecknock Hall – Greenport, NY

Originally built in the 1850s, Brecknock Hall is a fantastic wedding venue near NYC for an estate-styled wedding. The building was carefully resorted in the early 2000s and now creates a pristine backdrop for any wedding.

Whether you are looking to get married right on the front steps, on the lawn, or inside, you can’t go wrong with any location at this venue. You can keep the party going outside on their patio or celebrate the night out on their lawns for the perfect end to your wedding day.

You also have access to 4 different parlor rooms, getting-ready suites for both you and your partner, and plenty of parking for all of your guests!
