Jessica and Kartik’s Brooklyn Winery wedding was on the most unexpectedly brilliantly sunny winter day. As a New York wedding photographer prepping for the winter I had my coat ready, but it was all bright skies and warm sun! From their getting ready at the William Vale hotel to the portraits on the streets of Brooklyn with a vintage cab, everything about the wedding was bright and sweet, just like Jessica and Kartik themselves.
About the Brooklyn Winery
The Brooklyn Winery, a cherished urban winery, has a rich history rooted in the passion and dedication of its co-founders, Brian Leventhal and John Stires.
Originally located in the Williamsburg neighborhood, it was born from the founders’ recreational winemaking endeavors in New Jersey. Their enjoyment of the craft led them to leave their jobs and establish the winery in Williamsburg, renowned for its vibrant and creative community.
This establishment was not just a winery, but a venue that combined a restaurant and event space, embodying the founders’ enthusiasm in every aspect, from winemaking to culinary offerings.
In early 2023, the Brooklyn Winery made a significant move to a new location at 61 Guernsey Street in Greenpoint, situated near the beer garden Spritzenhaus 33 and a block from McCarren Park. This relocation represents a continuation of their original concept, with a larger space accommodating the winery, restaurant, and event area.
The move to Greenpoint signifies an expansion and evolution of the Brooklyn Winery, maintaining its core essence while embracing a new chapter in a different Brooklyn neighborhood
Weddings at the Brooklyn Winery
Weddings at the Brooklyn Winery offer a blend of modern elegance and classic winery ambiance, creating a uniquely Brooklyn setting for couples. When the winery moved to the new, larger space at the intersection of Williamsburg and Greenpoint, the venue really flourished as a wedding site.
This new venue enhances the winery wedding experience with its modern, industrial space adorned with unique accents and lush backdrops, including a signature living plant wall, winery production area, and barrel room.
The venue can accommodate up to 175 guests, making it ideal for various wedding-related events such as engagement parties, wedding showers, ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, and send-off brunches. Couples choosing Brooklyn Winery for their special day receive exclusive access to private event spaces, a dedicated event manager, access to a private Wedding Suite, and a group couples’ food and wine tasting event.
The testimonials from couples who have celebrated their weddings here highlight the exceptional qualities of Brooklyn Winery. They praise the winery for its warm and intimate atmosphere, even without additional decorations, and commend the in-house catering for its exceptional quality.
The staff’s attentiveness and commitment to making each wedding unique and stress-free are frequently mentioned, with many couples feeling like they were the only clients. The event managers, especially noted for their responsiveness and helpfulness, play a significant role in ensuring a seamless and enjoyable wedding experience.
In summary, Brooklyn Winery offers a distinctive and memorable venue for weddings, combining the charm of a winery with the sophistication of a modern event space. Its commitment to personalized service, excellent food and wine, and a beautiful setting make it a sought-after location for weddings in New York.
