I capture the unspoken — the glances, the silences — drawing from New York's pulse and the richness of global cultures. Every wedding is its own intricate narrative. Rooted in theatre and life's everyday rhythms, I document moments both transient and timeless.

The Grand Belle at the Bellevue Hotel: A Glamorous Philadelphia Wedding Venue

The Grand Belle at The Bellevue Hotel is an exquisite wedding venue in Philadelphia. It just went under new ownership with Cescaphe, and it’s perfect for you if you’re seeking a first-class wedding experience.

I recently had the opportunity to photograph a glamorous wedding at the Grand Belle. To say I was impressed with this venue is an understatement! It’s one of those venues that inevitably sweep you off your feet from the moment you arrive.

Read on to learn more about The Grand Belle at The Bellevue. Plus, discover why it’s a beloved wedding venue amongst many couples in Philadelphia

The Grand Belle Wedding Venue at The Bellevue Hotel in Philadelphia

The Grand Belle was formerly The Bellevue wedding venue. You’ll find it located at 200 S Broad St in the heart of Philadelphia. It’s a seamless blend of modern luxury and early twentieth-century America.

The Bellevue Hotel first opened in 1904 and has a long and rich history of being famous for hosting galas, social functions, and weddings, all immersed in Gilded Age glamour. It was once described as the most luxurious hotel in the country and features a multitude of elegant guest rooms in various styles.

This hotel has been a staple of Philadelphia’s cultural, social, and business activities for many years and a favorite of previous U.S. presidents, heads of nations, actors, etc.

The iconic hotel features luxurious ballrooms with ornate details, crystal chandeliers, and marble floors, offering a glamorous wedding setting. The ballroom stands out for its architectural beauty and opulent decor.

A Wedding with Cescaphe

A wedding at The Grand Belle offers unmatched service and a prestigious address, providing a classic, upscale wedding experience with modern amenities and culinary excellence.

As Cescaphe recently took over, renovations have been made to enhance your experience, including new hardwood floors, modern lighting, a stunning new bar, and custom chairs that pay homage to the original chairs once used in the ballroom.

Additionally, if you haven’t heard of Cescaphe before, they are a group of expert coordinators who create incredible and unforgettable events. A wedding with Cescaphe is more than just a celebration; it’s a luxury experience featuring first-class service, culinary offerings, and an array of impeccable amenity offerings.

Ceremony and Reception Sites at The Grand Belle

On the day of your wedding, you can have your ceremony in the splendid Grand Ballroom, which encompasses the beauty and the grandeur of the Gilded Age. You and your partner will exchange vows underneath the enchanting, iconic crystal chandeliers and be surrounded by beautiful French Renaissance architectural details as you start this exciting new chapter in your lives.

After your ceremony, you’ll then be able to have your cocktail hour in the exquisite Grand Marble Hall, the main cocktail room at this venue, where your guests will enjoy Cescaphe’s signature cocktail hour-and-a-half.

However, if you choose to have your ceremony off-site, you can still choose to have a cocktail hour in The Mezzanine, which overlooks the Grand Ballroom and is also an opulent space to celebrate in. Cescaphe’s cocktail hour and a half comes with 40 butlered hors d’oeuvres, a row of chilled seafood display, antipasto stations, and so much more!

For your reception, you’ll head back to the charming Grand Ballroom, now transformed for your reception with lavish decor and touches of refined luxury.

Frequently Asked Questions: The Grand Belle at The Bellevue

Where is The Grand Belle located?

200 South Broad Street in Center City Philadelphia — one of the most prestigious addresses in the city, steps from the Avenue of the Arts and easy for guests arriving from New York or Washington.

How many guests can The Grand Belle accommodate?

Up to 300 guests seated with a dance floor, 500 seated for dinner, and up to 1,500 for a cocktail-style celebration. It’s one of the largest and most grand wedding spaces in Philadelphia.

Who manages weddings at The Grand Belle?

Cescaphe recently took over the space and they run a full-service operation — ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, catering, bar, cake, and concierge planning all included. It’s a genuinely all-in experience.

What makes The Grand Belle different from other Philadelphia venues?

The combination of Gilded Age architecture and Cescaphe’s full-service model is rare. Most grand historic venues require you to bring in every vendor separately. Here, the infrastructure is built in, which makes the day significantly smoother.

What are the best photo locations at The Grand Belle?

The Grand Ballroom with its crystal chandeliers and French Renaissance architectural details is extraordinary for ceremony and reception coverage. The Grand Marble Hall during cocktail hour photographs beautifully. The balcony overlooking the cityscape is one of my favorite portrait spots in the building.

Do you photograph weddings at The Grand Belle regularly?

Yes — it’s one of my favorite Philadelphia venues. If you’re planning a wedding there, reach out here. And if you’re still exploring Philadelphia venues, my Philadelphia wedding photographer post covers the full landscape of what the city offers.
